The Role: SOC Analyst

We’re looking for a skilled SOC Analyst to join our cybersecurity team at Kuda. In this critical role, you’ll safeguard our digital infrastructure by monitoring, analyzing, and responding to security threats. Responsibilities

• Act as the first line of defense, monitoring real-time security alerts via SIEM, IDS/IPS, and other tools.
• Investigate and triage security incidents to reduce risks and impact.
• Conduct root cause analysis and propose effective mitigation strategies.
• Analyze system logs to detect anomalies and potential breaches.
• Stay informed on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and attack trends.
• Collaborate with teams to remediate vulnerabilities and deploy security patches.
• Perform regular audits of system and network security setups.
• Support threat hunting to proactively uncover malicious activities.
• Create detailed incident and threat analysis reports for stakeholders.
• Enhance SOC processes, playbooks, and policies through development and tuning.
• Ensure compliance with security standards and regulations.
• Participate in red team/blue team exercises to boost detection capabilities.
• Provide actionable insights by tracking cybersecurity trends.
• Automate repetitive SOC tasks using scripting (e.g., Python, PowerShell).

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• Experience: 1-3 years in a SOC or cybersecurity role.
• Technical Skills: Familiarity with SIEM tools (e.g., Alienvault, Sentinel), networking protocols, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection.
• Analytical Ability: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Frameworks: Knowledge of incident response frameworks (e.g., NIST, SANS).
• Certifications: CompTIA Security+, CySA+, or similar (preferred).
• Scripting: Experience with Python or PowerShell for automation.
• Threat Intelligence: Understanding of threat intelligence platforms and malware analysis.
